Recorded live at The Basement East in Nashville, Tennessee on September 5, 2019.
Today is the most recent installment of Unified Fridays on Bandcamp, a series we started a few months back. The proceeds from these live shows are donated to help employees of the independent venues where the shows were performed. In addition to this, today we are also making a donation to Black Lives Matter. We ask that you also consider donating directly to a worthy cause supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, many of which can be found at blacklivesmatter.com
Proceeds earned from these Bandcamp purchases have been going to the employee relief funds at the venues where these shows have been recorded. Below is our next Unified Friday installment. Contributions from this month’s show will be made to the relief fund for The Basement East.
On September 5, 2019 we started out our Nashville Constructive Summer weekend at the Basement East with this show. The Rock*A*Teens came up from Atlanta and played an amazing opening set, and we took the stage in front of a really amped up crowd. We hadn't been to Nashville in a long time before this, and it was worth the wait. Thrashing Thru The Passion was still a pretty new record, and we opened the leadoff track with Denver Haircut. It was loud, hot, and a lot of fun. The encore started with Blackout Sam, one of our new favorites, and ended as usual on Killer Parties.
This was the start of a beautiful weekend, and the scene seemed especially open and community minded. The Basement East has since been damaged by a tornado as well as facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we raise a toast in honor of this great club and its excellent employees.
And…looking ahead: We’ve got a really cool poster we printed for the April 2020 show at First Avenue & 7th St Entry in Minneapolis, MN. This was obviously postponed, but we still have these posters. We plan to make these available for sale shortly, with proceeds donated to important charity organizations. More on that soon.
We will continue contributing to these funds together until we’re able to play live shows again. Many of the people who work across all the venues are responsible for helping foster the environment to make Constructive Summer, The Weekender and Massive Nights such amazing experiences. Enjoy the music. Stay Positive.
